Dr. Janet Mahoney, PT, DPT

Owner, Chief Executive Officer

Arete Rehab-1000Dr. Janet Mahoney is the Chief Executive Officer of the company. She wants to create a post-acute rehab environment where innovative, evidence based services, integrated teams of therapists and medical staff, and comprehensive patient-centered services reform the post-acute landscape.

As a doctor of physical therapy with more than 30 years of experiences, she has worked in acute care hospitals, rehab hospitals, home health care, outpatient clinics, and chronic long term facilities. She co-founded a skilled nursing facility rehab management consulting company, became the first therapist reviewer for a commercial insurer in the state of Massachusetts, founded The American Association of Rehabilitation Therapistsa grass roots organization for therapists working in long term care, founded a Medicare accredited Rehab Agency and outpatient clinic, and has written many articles to emphasize the need for industry change.

Under her tutelage, Arete has partnered with the leading senior care organizations: Massachusetts Senior Care, LeadingAge, Go4Life, Amesbury Chamber of Commerce, and the American College of Healthcare Administrators. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and is licensed to practice in Massachusetts, Maine, and Vermont.

When she’s not working, writing blog posts, or researching the latest changes in the post-acute world, you can find her reading, snuggling with her three dogs, and enjoying her wonderful husband and five children in her Hampstead, NH home.

Michael Mahoney

President

Arete_Rehabilitation-1[1]Michael Mahoney, President of Arete Rehab, never expected to be co-founder of a health care company. However, when he realized how rehab services were changing, and not for the better, he became a passionate supporter of Arete and its mission.

As a CAD designer in the commercial HVAC industry over the last 30 years, he is able to apply his project coordination knowledge, IT skills, and financial management to his role as company President. He uses his creativity and great sense of humor to inspire employees.

Often, when not at the office, you can find him in his woodworking shop creating unique wood pieces, traveling to warm locales, and swimming. He is a father to five children, the owner of three dogs, and lives in Hampstead, NH with his wife, Janet.

Joan O'Meara, M.S., CCC-SLP

Vice President of Clinical Services

Arete Rehab-1003Joan O’Meara, M.S., CCC-SLP, Vice President of Clinical Services for Arete Rehab, is an experienced speech-language pathologist specializing in the treatment of dysphagia, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), cognition, aphasia, dysarthria, and apraxia. In addition, Joan has a passion for mentoring and collaborating with her fellow clinicians regarding best practice, outcomes, ethics, and program development.

Since, graduating from Ithaca College with a M.S. in Speech-Pathology, Joan has worked extensively in hospitals, home health, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and public schools.  Joan holds her Clinical Competence Certification from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association (ASHA).  She is licensed to practice in the states of MA and NH.

Joan lives in Salem, N.H. and has two children.  Joan is an avid reader who enjoys cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.

Celinet Ramirez

Practice Manager

Arete Rehab-1002Celinet Ramirez, Practice Manager, joined Arete Rehab as an intern through Northern Essex’s Business Internship program and decided to stay on as the company’s Practice Manager. She desires to expand her knowledge about the business management aspect of healthcare, and continues to pursue higher education in this field.

With degrees in Business Management in Healthcare and Health Information Management, she is continuing to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. She brings expertise in financial management, multi-state start-ups, and the Medicare Accreditation process.

As a full time student, employee, and mother, she finds time to help her extended family and spend time with her husband and two children. She enjoys going to the movies, swimming, and dancing.

Kerri Mahoney

Human Resources Specialist/Recruiter

Kerri Mahoney is a Human Resource professional with over five years of experience in the healthcare industry.

Prior to joining Arete, Kerri earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Tampa. Her experience includes benefits, employee relations, payroll, talent acquisition and management.

Kerri currently resides in middle Tennessee with her family and her three dogs.

Renee Noel Keimig PT, DPT

Director of Partnership Services

Arete Rehab-1001Renee Noel Keimig PT, DPT, CKTP is an experienced physical therapist and rehab manager who serves as the Director of Partnership Services at Arete Rehab. Renee is responsible for marketing, social media, business development, and customer service.  She brings her passion for helping others, desire to improve the healthcare industry, and previous success with growing a community-based outpatient program to Arete.

A 2010 graduate of Northeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in rehab science and a doctorate of physical therapy, her career has included work with neurological rehab, skilled-nursing rehab, post-acute care rehab, early intervention, outpatient orthopedic rehab, and adult home care.  She is also certified as a kinesio taping practitioner, and is licensed to practice in Massachusetts.

Renee lives in Amesbury, MA with her husband and her rescue dog, Mason.  When she is not on adventures with Mason, you can find her cooking, doing anything outdoors, or gardening.
